Highway Emergency: How Volunteers Rescued Stranded Families During Heavy Rains

On the rain-swept stretch between Godhra and Dahod border, sudden flash waterlogging stalled several tourist and family vehicles late Sunday night. With mobile connectivity intermittent and commercial mechanics unavailable, one traveller called Hindu Helpline helpline number.

Within 20 minutes, the Godhra district coordinator dispatched four local volunteer Sevaks with mechanic tools, high-intensity emergency lights, dry food packets, and towing ropes.

All 18 passengers, including 4 elderly persons and 3 infants, were escorted safely to a nearby community center before vehicles were towed to the local workshop the following morning.
